This series of little maps were drawn it is believed by Aristide Michel Perrot. They accompanied a topographical description of Great Britain by George Bernard Depping. He was a naturalised Frenchman who was born in Münster, Germany 1784 and became a professor of German and a member of the French Royal Society of Antiquaries. He died in 1853. Perrot was a geographer who produced several works related to this field. This is a very nice example of the second edition. Provenance: ‘L’Institution Landry’ embossed in gilt on the cover of all six volumes, this was a boarding school near Vincennes, Paris, inside the cover of each is a label indicating the book was awarded as a prize to student Flandin; private English collection.
