Charles Smith (fl.1799-1852) is perhaps best known for the ‘New English Atlas’ first published in 1804. He was a stationer who sold maps and globes in the Strand from 1800 to 1852. His work often achieved the high standards set by those of his great rival John Cary. Carroll (1996) no. 56; refer Phillips (1909-) no. 729.
