James Wallis’ last atlas production was The Panorama of 1820. Wallis was a proficient engraver and publisher in London. An example of his earlier work ‘Wallis’s New Pocket Edition’ can be found later in this catalogue. About W. H. Reid little is known. His name appears on the title page and it was compiled jointly with C. Hinton. As Reid’s name does not appear on the maps they are often referred to as the Wallis-Reid maps.
