Quarto (300 x 225 mm.), in contemporary quarter calf, marbled paper boards, spine with raised bands gilt ruled with ornate gilt floral decoration to compartments, gilt title. With engraved title page, pp. 18 and 37 engraved maps, the first and last folding, all in good early wash colour, all except the two folding printed from two copper plates, the second being a decorative border. In excellent condition.
The atlas comprises a large folding map of France on a ‘Geo-Spherique’ projection, numerous maps of France recording various divisions, two attractive ‘odographique’ charts, a title and three sea charts of the coasts of France by Rizzi-Zannoni, the final large folding map is of France divided into its provinces dated 1772.
