The most important seventeenth century work of Brazil. Most of the plates are signed by the artist Frans Post after his famous series of paintings. Post accompanied Maurits van Nassau-Siegen to Pernambuco. The first four regional maps are the first state of the celebrated Marcgraf map of Brazil. Some browning throughout as usual, otherwise in good condition.
