This extremely rare map of Wales is from a virtually unrecorded atlas. Dante Cremonini’s bibliography of Italian cartographic works does not list it. The ‘Atlante Geografico’ was published in Sienna by the two sons of Vincenzo Pazzini Carli (1707-1769), a bookseller, publisher, and printer. It appeared between 1788 and 1800 in 102 engraved maps. This particular map is engraved by Giuseppe Bonatti. Provenance: Doreen Green 2000; private English collection. Not in the British Library; not in Booth (1977); not in Cremonini (1991); not in Evans (1964); Roberts (1994) [22]; Tooley’s Dictionary (1999-2004); Valerio (1988) no. 9.
