Louis Antoine Du Caille was a geographer and draughtsman in Paris and in 1760 he produced this fine series of maps in collaboration with Giovanni Antonio Rizzi Zannoni (1736-1814). It was published by Christophe Ballard and entitled ‘Etrennes Géographiques’. This is an excellent example of a desirable miniature atlas. It is engraved throughout by Durand and Le Roy and contains 2 hemisphere maps of the world, 1 each of the continents including a separate North and South America, 1 of the British Isles, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, 5 maps of France, Flanders, 7 maps of Germany, Prussia, Spain and Portugal, and Italy.
