A collection of maps and prints from the ‘Universal Magazine’, one of the leading and best illustrated newspapers of the mid-eighteenth century. It includes alphabetically all the English counties from Stafford including Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Warwick, Westmoreland, Wiltshire, Worcester and the three Ridings of Yorkshire. Also present are the Isle of Man, all seven relating to Wales, Minorca and Guadeloupe. These are bound with a further 26 views from the same publication. Provenance: bookplate of E. C.
