A very fine example of the first edition, first issue with only 18 pages of text for the ‘Index to the Direct Roads from London’. ‘The body of the work gives particulars of the roads, with miles between the places noted and between each place and London, followed, after each section, by a list of the inns, and of gentlemen’s houses, with the names of the occupiers’ (Fordham).
