The atlas was first issued in parts between 1824 and 1827. This complete atlas is rarely found complete. The text describing the ancient world was the work of M. Danou. That of the modern world was the work of the noted scholar Jean-Baptiste Benoit Eyries. He was a founder member of the Societe de Geographie. The maps are the work of cartographer Aristide Michel Perrot (1793-1879). Provenance: with advertising label inside upper cover of Delaville, Rue de la Chausssee d’Antin, No. 15.
