The FIRST EDITION of Rigobert Bonne’s ‘Atlas Moderne’ which was published in 1762. Bonne was an engineer, mathematician and cartographer. He succeeded Jacques Nicolas Bellin as the hydrographer at the Depot de la Marine. Jean Lattre was the publisher of this edition, he may also have been this maps engraver. Folio (375 x 275 mm.), full early mottled calf, with red calf gilt title label affixed to the spine, with title page trimmed and laid down, lacking Table, Avertissement trimmed lower right corner, frontispiece one table plate and 35 copper engraved maps, some water stain to Allemagne I, Turkey in Europe, East Indies and South America, all in early outline colour.
