Guiseppe Antonio Remondini (1747-1811) was a Venetian cartographer and publisher. His most notable work is a new edition of Paolo Santini’s ‘Atlas Universel’ in 1784. As the title indicates this little miniature atlas was for the use of schools. Phillips 3377; Tooley’s ‘Dictionary’.

Duodecimo (125 x 80 mm.), contemporary Italian paper boards with contemporary Italian paper slipcase with original label, light wear. With engraved frontispiece, ornate engraved title page, two double page engraved plates of contents and 60 double page copper plate engraved maps, all in early outline colour. Light water stains to the top margin, otherwise a fine world atlas. Complete with contemporary Italian marbled endpapers.
