The rare first state of the chart in two parts illustrating the coast of Portugal extending from Cape Finisterre in Gallicia to Portmao in the Algarve. Whilst it was published by the firm Mount and Page, the imprint of Richard Mount appears alone in the title. It was published in the ‘English Pilot First Part, Southern Navigation’. Two insets of the approaches to Port a Port and Lisbon are included. There are extensive soundings in many harbours and inlets. Not in Conde (2003); Sanderson (1971) NMM 423 no. 80; Shirley(2004) M.M&P 1a no. 18.
