This rare map by Nicolai Jonge (1727-89) was published we believe in the ‘Baron Ludvig Holberg’s Geographie eller Jordbeskrivelse, forfattet efter det af Ham Selv udgivne lidet latinske Geographiske Kompendium’, in Copenhagen, 1761. This map of the British Isles is coloured by region. A table on the right breaks the regions down politically. An inset upper left features the northern Scottish islands. Little was traced about Jonge. He appears to have been a Danish historian. Tooley’s Dictionary (1999-2004).
