It is richly decorated with maritime imagery highlighting its significance to Dutch power. A fleet of naval vessels appear at the top whilst below is a picture of Neptune, the god of the sea, alongside mermaids and putti. The centred title is pasted on printed paper allowing the same plate to be used for different languate editions. It is flanked by two female figures holding curtains aloft. In their other hand they hold navigational tools. Koeman (1967-70) pp. 152-7, Don 13.
