This work is compiled by John Barrow, a teacher of mathematics, and published by John Coote by whom it is generally known. To illustrate this part work a series of plates were issued, both costume and fine topographical views. Also an attractive series of rococo style engraved maps by George Rollos (1731-96) of the world. Provenance: with manuscript ownership of ‘Wm. Harding’ on recto of frontispiece. Folio (365 x 235 mm.), two volumes bound as one, nineteenth century full sheep with blind panels, ribbed spine with gilt calf title label, worn. Engraved frontispiece, typographic title page in red and black, published originally in parts unpaginated, with 48 maps, 35 views and 59 costume plates, that of the East Indies torn just into the image.
