Sarah Sophia Cornell’s first known published work was the ‘World in Hemispheres’ issued in 1855. This was closely followed by this high school atlas first published in 1859 with ensuing editions to 1879. With an eight page index at the end including a ‘Pronouncing’ guide to geographical names for the Teachers. Tooley’s Dictionary.

Quarto (355 x 355 mm.), in full contemporary paper boards, spine and corners repaired poorly with tape. Upper board with ornate printed title bearing large world map. With 26 maps (7 double page), all in early wash colour, map 14 with minor surface abrasion, otherwise generally in good condition.
