This series of little maps were drawn it is believed by Aristide Michel Perrot. They accompanied a topographical description of Great Britain by George Bernard Depping. The volume being offered here is the second which describes Scotland. He was a naturalised Frenchman who was born in Münster, Germany 1784 and became a professor of German and a member of the French Royal Society of Antiquaries. He died in 1853. Perrot was a geographer who produced a number of works related to this field. A very nice example of the second edition. Provenance: private English collection. Carroll no. 83.
