This series of little maps were drawn it is believed by Aristide Michel Perrot. They accompanied a topographical description of Great Britain by George Bernard Depping. He was a naturalised Frenchman who was born in Münster, Germany 1784 and became a professor of German and a member of the French Royal Society of Antiquaries. He died in 1853. Perrot was a geographer who produced a number of works related to this field. This is a nice example of the third edition with unusual continental binding. Provenance: private English collection. Carroll (1996) no. 83.
