In 1820 Samuel Leigh published ‘Leigh’s New Picture of England and Wales’, a miniature county atlas which proved a success. For it he engaged the services of Sidney Hall to engrave a series of engraved maps. The series of maps can be found sold as a separate county atlas but is more often found bound as here with the Road Book. The fifth edition. Provenance: manuscript ownership inscription dated May 1836 on front flyleaf. Chubb 378.
