As Koeman notes, “the role of Janssonius in matters of maritime cartography is slight”. His edition of the Zee-Spiegel is essentially the same as that of Pieter Goos’s version of 1650, but with a title overslip and two secondary titles bearing Janssonius’s name. In terms of the charts, this collates as Koeman’s Goos 17, with the exception that chart 26 is divided into two separate parts. Koeman M. Ja 2 is similar to this, but he records dates of 1651 and 1652 on the engraved and printed titles, whereas this copy is dated 1652 and 1653 respectively.
