This fine attractive map of the Middle East showing Cyprus is from Philippe Cluver’s “Introductionis in Universam Geographiam” as published in Amsterdam by the Elzevir press in 1661. The first edition of this work was published in the 1620s and there were numerous later editions although many did not include maps. This series of 40 maps was first published in 1661.
