A fine example of Wenceslaus Hollar’s panoramic bird’s-eye view of Jerusalem in its first state. With an inset plan of ‘Hierusalem Veteris Imago Vera’, upper left, and inset key, upper right. The ravine and river run across the foreground of the print. This rare print comes from the King James Bible published in Cambridge, 1660, by John Field. It was a fine Bible printed to celebrate the Restoration of Charles II. Herbert 668; Laor 1043 (not identifying the later state); Pennington 1130; Wing B2258.
