This map of Russia with ornate baroque title cartouche was published in the second volume of Thomas Salmon’s “Universal Traveller”. The maps in this work are engraved by John Gibson, Thomas Kitchin or G. Child. The others in this particular volume are by Gibson and it is to him that this map is assigned. Shirley ‘Atlases in the British Library’ G.Salm 5a no. 18.
