A beautifully engraved map of the strategic harbour of Mahon on the Balearic Island of Minorca which was taken in 1708 here engraved by Isaac Basire. A small assumption is made in naming the engraver Isaac as the initial could be read as a ‘J’ for his son James who was not born until 1730.
