This dissected map extends as far north as Edinburgh and gives extensive detail of the country at the time. Drawn on a scale of 5 miles to the inch, the whole map when put together measures 1775 x 2235 mm. It is dedicated to the Post Masters General and is drawn using the Greenwich Meridian. Indeed it is the first printed map to do so. Provenance: private English collection. Fordham (1925) pp. 44-7.

Quarto (320 x 260 mm.), contemporary half calf, marbled boards, worn. Gilt bands on spine with worn title. With engraved title, dedication, early outline coloured general map and map in 77 sections, numbered to 81, in early outline colour. Minor print offsetting. Endpapers loose and creased.
