Desnos was an active publisher in Paris from the 1760s to the 90s. He was not entirely successful being declared bankrupt in 1784. This map bears a second engraved printed decorative border placed around the map which included blank side panels for the pasted descriptive text. From the ‘Atlas Universel’.
