This small engraving of Spain and Portugal is on the title page to the fourth part of the English translation of Linschoten’s very important ‘Itinerario’. This work was based on his service in Goa under the Portuguese between 1583 and 1588. It proved very influential as it introduced unknown Portuguese cartography to the world.
