We know very little about I. V. Kircher, it appears even his forenames are unknown. Tooley’s “Dictionary” only refers to this map although in 1984 the British Library acquired one of Europe by him. This is an extremely rare distance map derived from John Adams. It is printed and sold by Henry Overton and John Hoole which dates the map from in or after 1724. The main title is written across the top of the map with an Explanation upper right. A table of ‘Direct Roads’ appears on the left whereas one on the right features the ‘Cross Roads’.
