A fine detailed map of the Amazon River by Father Samuel Fritz (1656-1728). He spent 42 years in South America during which time he helped map disputed territory between the Spanish and the Portuguese. It resulted in the first relatively correct depiction of the waters of the Upper Maranon. The account and map were published in the Harleian or Oxford Voyages by Thomas Osborne in 1745.
