Captain Pennell-Elmhirst (1845-1916) was a notable sportsman who wrote a number of books on hunting. Many of these accounts were selected and republished from “The Field”, for whom he wrote under the pen-name “Brooksby.

Four full page coloured plates with tissue guards, one loose; black &white illustrations throughout including a vignette on title page. Illustrations, coloured and plain, by John Sturgess. Cloth a little worn away at the top of the spine.
