Girolamo Ruscelli’s edition of Ptolemy’s “Geography” included newly engraved copperplates by Giulio and Livio Sanuto. First published in 1561 this example is in its third state as published in the 1598 edition. It depicts the Indian “peninsula” as mapped by Ptolemy. The Indus and Ganges rivers can be clearly seen.
