Girolamo Ruscelli’s edition of Ptolemy’s ‘Geography’ included newly engraved copperplates by Giulio and Livio Sanuto. First published in 1561 this example is in its second state as published in the 1574 edition. It depicts the north west African coast as mapped by Ptolemy which includes modern day Morocco.
