This is an UNRECORDED map of the CALIFORNIAN GOLD RUSH. When news of the California Gold Rush arrived in Tasmania there was naturally great interest. The best known work to fulfil this interest was editions of Bryant and Wierzbicki published in Hobart. This item was a supplement to the ‘Launceston Examiner’ and was ‘Lithographed by T. Browne Hobart Town from a Sketch by Albert Synnot Esqre. San Francisco’. The paper’s office was ‘situate in Charles-street, Launceston, Van Diemen’s Land’. It was published by Jonathan Stammers Waddell, ‘residing in Patterson-street, in Lauceston aforesaid, printer’.
