From the first edition of Arnold Montanus’ ‘De Nieuwe en Onbekende Weereld’ published by Jacob van Meurs. The town of Acapulco was important in the Spanish Empire as the port on the American end of the Spanish Galleon route across the Pacific from Manilla. The town is well developed and defended by the fort on the hill. The busy harbour can be seen on the right. Nordenskiold 593 no. 20; Shirley BL G.Mon 1a no. 23.
