This is more a map and plan of the town of Kang-Hoa on the island of Kanghwa which sits at the strategically important entrance to the river which leads to the capital Seoul in South Korea. It depicts clearly the walled town with its ‘Porte’s’ or entrances, roads and buildings. It is drawn from the survey of Admiral Roze who led a French expedition here in the previous year 1866.
