A good detailed map of Japan and an insular Korean peninsula from the ‘Nieuwen Atlas’. In the late 1650s Jansson expanded his atlas with a number of new plates. This one of Japan and Korea was one of them. This particular map was produced on a larger scale than before. Cortazzi pl. 70; Hubbard (2012) no. 30; Van der Krogt, P.
