A lovely detailed chart of northern Africa recording more detail than might be expected in the remote inland regions. John Pinkerton (1758-1826) was born in Edinburgh but moved to London in 1781. He was the publisher of several works on geography and cartography but his largest atlas was the ‘Modern Atlas’ of 1815. Phillips 724.
