The first edition of this map was in 1773 when it appeared in Thomas Kitchin’s ‘New General Atlas’. This second state appeared in the following edition published by William Faden. The main difference is the addition of Faden’s imprint and date. There is a later state still dated 1790. It is beautifully engraved with an ornate title cartouche lower left. Royal Scottish Geog.
