A pair of English costumed figures from Pietro Bertelli’s ‘Diversarum nationum habitus’ published in Padua in 1589. Pietro Bertelli (fl.1594-1616) was a member of the extensive family of engravers, publishers and mapsellers of the same name largely known to work in Venice. This work was a collection of figures throughout Europe including images of processions, some specific portraits. Colas 316.
