The map is orientated with north to the left. Upper right is Prague with the further historic cities of Dresden and Leipzig in the centre. It extends to Erfurt, Germany at the bottom. It is derived from one by Bartholemaeus Scultetus and was published in Abraham Ortelius’ ‘Theatrum Orbis Terrarum’, the first modern atlas, from 1595. This example bears no text on the verso therefore establishing the edition is difficult beyond the fact that it is in the second state with the corrected longitude figures. Karrow 1/84; Van der Broecke 96b.
