From the ‘A Direction for the English Traveller’. An early road map pre-dating those of John Ogilby. These contain a triangular table of distances for each county. They were first published in 1635 for Matthew Simmons’ extremely rare ‘Direction for the English Traviller’. In 1643 Thomas Jenner published the work again having enlarged the ‘thumb nail’ maps.
