With the distinguished PROVENANCE OF ALBERT COHN. This caricature by George Cruickshank (1792-1878) features Louis XVIII, Tallyrand and Fouche. The folder it is contained in bears a typed description presumably by Cohn of the history behind the plate and the dispute with Sidebotham which ended up in Court. Provenance: with bookplate of Albert M. Cohn and with stamp to verso of Cohn family crest “Lux Dei Ibi Salus’. Cohn (1924) ‘George Cruickshank. A Catalogue Raisonne’.

350 x 250 mm., etching in original colour, minor printers crease, lower edge with a couple of tears, contained within paper folder with bookplate of Albert M. Cohn, his label with catalogue numbers and a typed description of the plate, otherwise in good condition.
