Issued in ‘Le Monde Terrestre’ first published in 1660. It is derived from ‘La Floride’, 1657, by his uncle, Nicolas Sanson. One difference is the prominence that Duval gives to the ‘Rio del Spiritu Sto’ over the other rivers feeding the ‘Mar Pequeno’. ‘Caroline’ is named at ‘Port Royal’, and the French claim to the region is identified. This second state bears the addition in the south-east of ‘Caroline ou Charlesford’, ‘Lac Erie’ and ‘Nouueau Mexique’. Burden 352 st. 2.
