This fine map of the majority of Northern Italy was first published in the 1590 edition of Abraham Ortelius’ ‘Theatrum Orbis Terrarum’, the first modern atlas. This example with Italian text to the verso was published in 1612 and is in the second state with added Roman roads along coast. Van der Broecke 206 state 2.
