A superb map of South East Asia displaying the region from India to New Guinea and including Japan and the southern tip of Korea in the upper right. Prominent in the lower right is the northern half of Australia with features named by Abel Tasman in 1642. The map conveniently leaves the question of the Torres Straits unanswered by placing it just outside the map. With a fine allegorical title cartouche with a compass rose above. This edition is the second state published by Pieter Schenck bearing his imprint. Koeman III p. 182; Tooley (1979) no. 1301.

455 x 555 mm., in early wash colour, very minor worm holes at the extreme top and bottom of the centrefold not affecting the image, otherwise a very good example.
