An attractively engraved map focusing on the regions controlled by the Moors in north Africa and the Iberian Peninsula during the latter part of the medieval period. It depicts in detail the north African coast from present day Morocco to Libya. The western Mediterranean is also displayed with the islands of Sardinia, Corsica, and the Balearics. The whole is decorated with three decorative cartouches. From the ‘Atlas Geographique et Universel’. Engraved by Joan Baptiste Liebaux. cf Norwich, O.I. #297.
