This plan of the modern Paris is from Nicholas Delamare’s ‘Traite de la Police’. It is a multi-volume work which began in 1707. It was a comprehensive study of the history of regulation and policing in the city of Paris. Accompanying the book were eight plans of Paris from its foundation to the time of publication. This the eighth, is the most modern of them and represents the city at the time of publication.
