An attractive map of the Lorraine region. The River Rhine runs in the lower right corner and includes the city of Strassburg. The map is centred on Nancy and includes the city of Metz and to the north Luxembourg. It bears a beautifully engraved title cartouche typical of the Dutch mastery of the day. The dating of maps by the Visscher family is very hard but bearing the privilege granted in 1677 we can estimate the date of issue at approximately 1690.
