John Pinkerton (1758-1826) was born in Edinburgh but moved to London in 1781. He was the publisher of several works on geography and cartography but his largest atlas was the ‘Modern Atlas’ of 1815. A fine large scaled detailed map of Egypt at the time of the French involvement in the region. Phillips 724.
